Ben was raised on a farm in Southern Alberta. Most of his time was spent playing sports or working on the farm. After dedicating a few years to work and service, he began University at the U of L where he played basketball and completed a Bachelor's degree in accounting. During university he started a contracting company, which allowed him to put his degree to use every day. It also allowed him to begin investing in the markets, real estate and other businesses. His love of finance and wealth management was cultivated. He ultimately took a job with KPMG LLP where he gained valuable experience but quickly determined Wealth Management was the route for him.

Ben joined IG Wealth Management in 2015 and quickly became a high performing practice. As a result, he was invited to IG Private Wealth Management in 2021.
